Astigmatism is a refraction error. Why does it happen?
It is generated when there is an imperfection in the curvature of the cornea or an abnormality in the lens of the eye. Instead of being round like a ball, it has an oval shape. This results in blurry vision regardless of visual distance.
Astigmatism is frequently diagnosed at birth and can be accompanied by myopia or hyperopia.
